Isla Mujeres Wedding Photography Elvis Aceff Photographer. Jordan and Jene have been together about 7.5 years. They actually met on Match.com, even though they lived in the same small town and worked at the same company! From first date, they both knew this was something special and they’ve been best friends and partners ever since. After about 3 years together, their careers forced us to spend 1.5 years in a long-distance relationship (he was in Georgia, while Jene was in Illinois). Their mutual love carried them through and about 2 years ago they were reunited again. They purchased a home together and have been living together every since.
They’re a pretty non-traditional couple in that we’re both very independent, they don’t like to conform to traditional relationship roles, and like to do things the best way that works for them. With a large family and lots of friends, they knew having a traditional wedding would be stressful and expensive. But most importantly, they knew a big wedding would make our special day about everything else but what really mattered. What matters to them is their commitment to each other and the joining of their families. As a result, they decided to have a very intimate wedding in Isla Mujeres with just our immediate family members. Jene lost both my brother and father at a young age, so family is the most important thing to her. So this union would not only be about them, but about the few people they’ve asked to come along with them for the journey. They rented a villa where all of the wedding guests can stay together for a few brief days. They wanted the trip to signify the joining of our families and what better way to get to know each other better and bond than staying under one roof.
