Boat Wedding Riviera Maya Sunset Photos. I had the privilege to meet Amelia and Alex for their Caribbean Boat Destination Wedding. This nice friendly couple came with the best ones to celebrate one week around the Riviera Maya. The best the Wedding Day in a Catamaran at the Sunset. Alex and Amelia met in nursing school in Baltimore, MD in 2015. They traveled to the Yucatán in 2017 for a vacation and found it to be a magical place. Being from opposite coasts in the USA (Alex from CA and Amelia from NH) they knew someone would have to travel for a wedding no matter what. Amelia dreamed of a wedding that felt like a family vacation, one where the focus was on spending time together and enjoying a location where the couple had fallen in love. Both families celebrated the week together in a beautiful villa near Playa del Carmen. The small wedding party allowed for spontaneity and a unique setting such as a ceremony on a boat. The informal ceremony took place on the bow of a catamaran, barefoot, as family shared their advice of love and marriage while enjoying the sunset. It was a beautiful day to be remembered by all.
