They knew that if they were to ever formalize their long-term relationship (they met in law school 7+ years ago and have been together ever since) with a wedding, they would want it to be a small and intimate family-only celebration on the beach. They even discussed eloping but decided to include 8 of their closest family members. They also knew they wanted to go out of the country and ultimately chose Cozumel, as it was close enough to not be a major overseas trip for everyone but also remote enough to feel “away”. The ceremony was simple and beautiful (despite the extreme humidity that day!), from the sunset to the flower-laden arbor to the impromptu decision to hire a mariachi band to play after the ceremony!
