Majestic Elegance Wedding Photography | Becka & Brooke’s Beautiful Same-Sex Wedding

Some weddings are especially meaningful because they allow you to reconnect with people whose stories you have already been part of. Photographing Becka and Brooke’s wedding at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres was one of those occasions.

I first met this wonderful couple in the fall of 2025, when I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session. Seeing them again on their wedding day, this time surrounded by their loved ones and ready to begin a new chapter together, made the experience even more special.

As a destination wedding photographer based in Playa del Carmen, I love documenting celebrations that are full of genuine emotion, spontaneous laughter, and unforgettable moments. Becka and Brooke’s wedding brought all of that together in a beautiful celebration of their love.

A Beautiful Same-Sex Wedding at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres

Becka and Brooke traveled from New York to celebrate their wedding in the Mexican Caribbean. With the beautiful setting of Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, their day was filled with meaningful moments, happy tears, laughter, and the excitement of sharing such an important occasion with family and friends.

As a photographer, these are the moments I love most: the expressions that happen naturally, the little interactions between loved ones, and the emotions that cannot be planned or repeated.

My approach to Majestic Elegance Wedding Photography is documentary in nature. I want couples to enjoy their wedding day while I capture the story as it unfolds, preserving the atmosphere and genuine emotions without turning every moment into a posed photograph.

Of course, beautiful portraits are also an important part of the experience. I make time for relaxed photographs of the couple together while allowing the celebration to continue naturally around them.

From Their Engagement Session to Their Wedding Day

One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is the opportunity to work with the same couple more than once.

When I photographed Becka and Brooke’s engagement session in the fall of 2025, I had the opportunity to get to know them and capture their connection as a couple. Meeting them again for their wedding felt like continuing a story that had already begun.

There is something special about that connection. By the wedding day, we were already familiar with one another, which helped create a comfortable atmosphere for their photographs.

Rather than treating the wedding as a collection of individual pictures, I see it as another chapter in their story: from celebrating their engagement to documenting the day they exchanged their vows and celebrated with the people closest to them.

I am grateful whenever couples invite me back to photograph another important milestone in their lives.

Emotional Moments, Genuine Laughter, and a Joyful Celebration

Every wedding has its own personality, and Becka and Brooke’s celebration was both emotional and incredibly fun.

There were heartfelt moments that made the day meaningful, along with plenty of laughter and spontaneous interactions that reflected the joy of the occasion. These contrasting emotions are what make wedding photography so rewarding. A wedding is never just about the ceremony; it is also about everything that happens before, between, and after the formal moments.

One of the highlights came toward the end of the celebration, when the party turned into a lively water batucada. The rhythm, splashing water, laughter, and contagious energy created a wonderfully playful ending to the day.

It was the kind of moment that reminds me why I love documentary wedding photography. You can plan a ceremony, choose a beautiful venue, and organize a reception, but you cannot manufacture the genuine happiness that emerges when everyone lets go and enjoys the moment.

Those are the memories worth preserving.

Majestic Elegance Wedding Photography: Capturing Your Story Naturally

Choosing a wedding photographer is about more than finding someone who can take beautiful pictures. It is about finding someone whose approach allows you to feel comfortable, enjoy your celebration, and trust that the important moments will be documented.

My style combines documentary storytelling with creative portraits and a natural, vibrant color palette. I focus on real expressions, meaningful interactions, and the atmosphere of the celebration, while also making time for classic photographs of the couple and their loved ones.

For couples planning a destination wedding at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, I aim to create a collection of images that brings the experience back to life long after the wedding day.

Whether you are planning an intimate celebration or a lively wedding with family and friends, your photographs should reflect who you are as a couple—not simply reproduce a list of poses.

Becka and Brooke’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that every couple has a story worth telling, and I am honored when I am invited to tell it through my photographs.

Alex + Shana’s Destination Wedding in Costa Mujeres

A beautiful destination wedding at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, photographed for Alex and Shana as they celebrated their love surrounded by family and friends who traveled from Atlanta, Georgia, to Mexico.

Their wedding was filled with genuine emotion, elegant details, beautiful portraits, and unforgettable moments from beginning to end.

For me, this wedding was especially meaningful because I had already photographed Alex’s sister’s wedding four years earlier. Being invited back to photograph another important celebration for the same family is one of the greatest compliments a photographer can receive.

A Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres Wedding

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres is an exceptional setting for couples planning a destination wedding in Mexico. Located just north of Cancun, Costa Mujeres offers beautiful Caribbean beaches, elegant resort spaces, and the relaxed atmosphere couples look for when bringing their family and friends together for a wedding celebration.

For couples traveling from the United States or Canada, a destination wedding at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres combines the experience of a tropical Mexican wedding with the convenience of a luxury all-inclusive resort.

And when the wedding day arrives, there are countless opportunities for beautiful photography.

From getting ready and the ceremony to family portraits, romantic newlywed photos, golden-hour portraits, and the reception celebration, every part of the day can be documented with a natural and elegant approach.

Wedding Photography at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres

Your wedding photography should be more than a collection of posed photographs.

My approach is focused on capturing the atmosphere and emotion of the entire day while also creating beautiful, timeless portraits of the couple.

I photograph the moments that happen naturally — the excitement while getting ready, the emotions during the ceremony, the laughter with family and friends, and the energy of the reception — while also making time for elegant portraits of the newlyweds.

For a destination wedding, I believe the photographs should bring you back to the feeling of being there.

The ocean, the architecture, the celebration, and the people you traveled so far to share the day with — all of it becomes part of your wedding story.

Alex + Shana

Alex and Shana’s wedding was a wonderful example of what makes destination weddings so special.

Their celebration brought together family and friends in Costa Mujeres for a day filled with love, laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.

And for me, there was an extra connection to this wedding: I already knew the family.

Four years earlier, I had photographed Alex’s sister’s wedding. Returning to photograph Alex and Shana meant documenting another chapter in a family story that I had already been lucky enough to witness.

That connection makes weddings like this particularly meaningful.

Riu Palace Peninsula Cancun Wedding | Cory and Coletta unexpectedly found love through a data app in 2020 shortly after the world shut down. However, neither Bride nor Groom are surprised their relationship made it to the alter. Cory cheekily asked Coletta “Will you marry me?” within the first few messages exchanged and Coletta was always hoping he’d make good on his promise. The couple’s love of sports, entertainment and Mexican cuisine led Cory and Coletta to planning a destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico. Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres Wedding | Samantha and Josh’s love story began with a swipe right in 2018, thanks to Hinge. Josh had just bought a house near Philadelphia, and Samantha had recently moved there from NYC — fate (and a good algorithm) brought them within range. Their first date? A Halloween dinner at a Mexican restaurant — the perfect start to a love story rooted in adventure, warmth, and a shared love of food. Over the years, their bond deepened through life’s highs and lows, grounded in their mutual love for family, friends, nature, and cooking. On their five-year anniversary, Josh proposed in the very spot where he first told Samantha he loved her.

Seven years after that Halloween date, they said “I do” in Mexico — a meaningful destination, as it was also the location of their first international trip together to Tulum. The peaceful beauty of the Yucatán coast made the perfect backdrop for the next chapter in their story. Majestic Elegance Wedding Photography by Elvis Aceff Cancun Wedding Photographer

Secrets the Vine Cancun Wedding. One of my favorites of the year so far. What a happy couple! Laura and Tim are both obsessed with music, and in particular, the amazing friends they meet along the way at concerts and festivals both near and far. They wanted to throw the biggest dance party for their friends and family, so they invited their new friend Saxsquatch (@saxsquatch), who had recently blown them away at a festival with his bigfoot antics and saxophone madness, down to Cancun to ensure a night no one will soon forget! Hyatt Ziva Cancun Wedding Photography by Elvis Aceff Cancun and Riviera Maya Wedding and Portrait Photographer. I was delighted to cover the beach destination wedding of Dave and Krystle from San Francisco California. I like weddings that I feel the couple as my friends. In this wedding I was like a guest with cameras. Dave and Krystle fell in love with each other for many reasons; two of those were how much they love to experience new adventures together and the 2nd how much they value those close in their lives. When Krystle found the lighthouse location at Hyatt Ziva Cancun, she knew that would be the most perfect place to bring those two things together on their special day! The most beautiful scenery along with the closest people in their lives…what a way to start a forever. Hyatt Ziva Cancun Wedding photos by Elvis Aceff Photographer.

Planet Hollywood Cancun Wedding Photos. Elvis Aceff wedding photographer for the wedding of Monica and Miguel Angel from Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua. Delighted to have been the photographer for this young couple. I really liked them, they are very friendly. I felt them as if long ago we were already friends. Even though this was the first time I saw them. They sought my photography services because a former client, also from Ciudad Juárez, recommended that I be their wedding photographer. It was a great pleasure covering the wedding, as well as getting to know the new Planet Hollywood Cancun hotel. The wedding day was rainy, so part of the newly wed session was the hotel lobby. Where I had the opportunity to take a photo in one of the cars from the Fast and the Furious movie. Congratulations to Monica and Miguuel Angel for their new life together. I wish to them the best.
