Three days, two beautiful traditions, and one unforgettable love story in Costa Mujeres, Mexico.
Some weddings are remembered for their beautiful venue or breathtaking décor. Mike and Jasmine’s celebration was unforgettable because of the incredible journey that brought them together.
Over three amazing days at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres, I had the honor of documenting a celebration that beautifully blended two traditions through a Catholic wedding and a Sikh ceremony. Every event reflected the love they share, surrounded by incredible family, lifelong friends, joyful laughter, and countless emotional moments.
From the lively Welcome Dinner to the intimate Catholic ceremony, followed by a meaningful Sikh wedding and an unforgettable reception, every chapter of their wedding weekend told a piece of their story.
When Mike and Jasmine shared how everything began, I immediately knew their story deserved to be told in their own words.
“Let’s take it back…allll the way back to 1998, where a couple of three-year-olds named Mike and Jasmine went to daycare. Mike vividly remembers a small, fearless Indian girl being so mean to him that he quit daycare altogether. Jasmine, naturally, remembers nothing. That was only the beginning of the string of fate pulling Mike and Jasmine together for years to come.
Years later, the two found themselves in the same 9th grade English class. Jasmine remembers Mike for making way too many “that’s what she said” jokes & wearing RayBan sunglasses with a beanie every day. Mike remembers Jasmine for her questionable 2010s fashion statements, and for giving him a terrible haircut in class. Lots of high school memories later, college pulled Mike and Jasmine 2000+ miles apart. Throughout college, they remained in touch through mutual friends and social media. Then one day the texts became daily, and they never really stopped. They both launched their careers on opposite ends of the country, but despite the distance & life stressors, their bond was unquestionable.
When Jasmine moved back to SoCal, suddenly things finally felt…right. The joy of being together still feels surreal to them. Grateful and happy are an understatement. Mike cherishes Jasmine’s radiant charisma, her infectious humor, and her endless capacity to love, not only him but everyone she meets. He still can’t believe the fiery girl from daycare is his wife. Jasmine treasures the calm Mike brings to any storm. He is a steady force who tends to every heart, and never once faltered with hers. Jasmine is convinced that the universe has been conspiring in their favor all along. The long way was worth it. Wedding day? Was just the beginning”.
Welcome Dinner
The celebration began with an evening full of excitement as family and friends gathered to welcome everyone before the wedding festivities officially began.
Music, laughter, colorful traditions, and unforgettable performances created the perfect atmosphere to start an incredible wedding weekend.
Catholic Wedding Ceremony
The following day, Mike and Jasmine celebrated a beautiful Catholic ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.
It was an emotional celebration filled with meaningful moments, heartfelt smiles, and quiet glances that reflected everything they had experienced together over the years.
Sikh Wedding Ceremony
The final day honored Jasmine’s Sikh heritage through a beautiful traditional ceremony rich in symbolism, family traditions, and meaningful customs.
Watching both families celebrate together with so much respect, love, and joy made this part of the weekend especially memorable.
Wedding Reception
As the sun set over Costa Mujeres, the celebration continued with an elegant reception full of laughter, heartfelt speeches, dancing, and unforgettable moments.
It was the perfect ending to three incredible days—but as Mike and Jasmine beautifully said…
“Wedding day? Was just the beginning.”
